At work, I wrote a very simple Nagios plugin for checking the size of directories. Download link is found on this page.

Volbeat: Live
This friday, Mikkel and I went to Århus to hear Volbeat play at Train. Gob Squad was support. Gob Squad was a so-so experience, but Volbeat really rocked. Their performance of “Always with U” was exceptionally good
The beer at Train costed 40Dkr a piece, but still I managed to get hammered. Volbeat good, hangover bad. Mikkel and I ended up in a real train to Aalborg at 04:05 am.
All in all, a good evening / night.

Marple: The Moving Finger
Lately, my wife (!) and I have started watching Miss Marple. A comment in the episode Marple: The Moving Finger struck me as funny:
Town Gossip: *Making comments based on prejudice*
Sane Person: *Pointing out that prejudice sucks*
Town Gossip: Blah, Blah, Fish Eggs! *and goes on gossiping*
I found it hilarious

Ruby: Introduction.
Inspired by the Ruby-relevant sessions at JAOO this year, I installed Ruby via fink and RadRails and am now playing a bit with these tools. I’m a bit unsure as to the best practices for developing Ruby applications. Specifically, I seem to have difficulties organising my projects. I hope I will find some examples of this whilst reading about Ruby online.

JAOO: It’s over!
This year was my first year attending JAOO, and don’t think it will be the last
The talks I attended was of varying quality. I liked the Ruby and SOA tracks and also, I think we will be looking at using Apache Geronimo soon at work.
Also, attending a conference i Århus allowed me to meet and talk to friends from my days at AU, which is always nice
Whilst attending JAOO, I stayed at a friends house, Ronni:

This picture is taken after a couple of rounds at Sharks where he whooped me in 9-ball. Then we decided to visit Waxies and drink more beer. Which was nice, if not for the fact that he had to go to work at 8 am and I had to appear at the conference again the following day
