I must have been sleeping! I just realised by visiting the fink homepage that the 10.4-transitional tree has been deprecated! (I’m running 10.4-transitional both at work and at home). So a-updating I will go, by following the update instructions on the homepage. I have done the following:

1. Download the update script from here
2. Update XCode to version 2.3
3. Run the

   ./update.pl

   from the update script

4. Wait a very long time for the compilation to finish

Update (2006-08-04 @ 10:40): Well, the compile finished, but my fink install was foobar’ed. So a quick backup of essential configuraion files and now I’m reinstalling fink I had a lot of packages installed.
